You know that feeling when you hit the county line…an extra little sigh of happiness? In my mind, that’s how I know I’m home. To me, home isn’t so much a place as a feeling. That feeling of unconditional love and true acceptance of “you”. The real you. I’ve lived in a lot of places, but home isn’t the place where I was born or where most of my family lives. Sadly, it’s not even the place I live now. The “place” where I find that feeling of home most often is a little city on the coast where I lived for a few years, but where my heart seemed to stay…it’s the place where I felt most like “me”, and where I know I can get back to if I lose myself again. It’s not the actual city, it’s the feeling of an overflowing heart that hits every time I arrive. Life can get crazy and chaotic and a little bit fuzzy, but when I start to feel out of touch, I know all I have to do is get myself back to this “place”, phsycially or emotionally, and it all comes back into focus. In the movie, “Away We Go” (there’s even a contest for the movie on Twitter Moms at http://www.twittermoms.com/forum/topics/away-we-go-contest-tell-us?page=3&commentId=2291408%3AComment%3A1048687&x=1#2291408Comment1048687), the main characters travel the country looking for home, but they’re wasting their time (and a lot of gas)… all they have to do is look in their hearts and ”feel” it.
